PURPOSE: To provide a method for coupling a lens array and fiber holding members which is effective for miniaturization and features good productivity. ;CONSTITUTION: Optical fiber fixing grooves 23a₁, 23b₁ and lens positioning grooves 23a₁, 23b₂ are integrally formed on the fiber holding members 23₁, 23₂ in this method for coupling the lens array 10 and the optical fiber array 20. The optical fibers 21 are held and fixed by the V-grooves 23a₁, 23b₂ of the optical fiber fixing grooves 23₁, 23₂ and the lenses 11 of the lens array 10 are brought into contact with the apertures formed by the V-grooves 23a₂, 23b₂ and are positioned, thereafter, these lenses are fixed with an adhesive, etc.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
