PURPOSE:To attain a step speed with an optimum search to its reception band by constituting the search cycle by a wait time and a PLL lock detection time and revising the wait time in response to number of channel selection of received bands. CONSTITUTION:In depressing a search button (up-button) 21, a search means 201 drives an N-value conversion means 202 to start an N-value supply means 203 and the N-value receiving in each band at a prescribed frequency interval is sent to a variable frequency divider circuit 13. In depressing the button 21, the N value to obtain a local oscillation frequency to increase the reception frequency is read sequentially. The search cycle is set to one N value, the wait time is provided at first and the lock detection time is set. The wait time is revised in response to the band and since the time is comparatively short in the AM/FM and number of stations is less in the TV frequency, the time is set comparatively longer. When locking is detected, the muting of the received output is released.
