PURPOSE: To facilitate laborsaving method for construction of a track without requiring experience in surveying by a method wherein measurement for the height of the track is executed precisely for a short period of time with a reference device for correcting the track and a measuring instrument for measuring the height. ;CONSTITUTION: A support guide 31, held to an engaging part 12 to which a guide post 33 is attached so that it can become capable of sliding vertically, is fixed with a fixing device 32 to one end of a main frame 10, and the support guide is made to serve as a height difference correcting means 30 for a reference device. A main leg 40 and a supplementary leg 41 are provided to the other end of the main frame, and the supplementary leg 41 is placed, with adjustment made, over the smoothing surface of ballast while the engaging part 12 is engaged with a reference pin of the reference device. Then, levelness is read on a level 11 attached to the frame 10 after the difference in heights between one end and the other end is corrected with the height difference correcting means 30.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
