PURPOSE: To separate plural channels collectively without complicating constitution and making it a large scale in a TDM separation circuit. ;CONSTITUTION: This circuit is provided with a control light source 10 generating control light pulse lines incorporating N kinds of optical frequencies synchronizing with N channels (N is integer of 2 or above) of signal light pulse lines to be separated among multiplexed signal light pulse lines that plural channels of signal light pulse lines are time division multiplexed, an optical multiplexer 11 multiplexing the multiplexed signal light pulse lines and the control light pulse lines, a non-linear optical medium 12 inputting the output light of the optical multiplexer 11, inducing a four light waves mixture effect between N channels of signal light pulse lines and the control light pulse lines having N kinds of optical frequencies and outputting conversion light pulse lines in which N systems of light pulse lines of which optical frequencies are different from each other are mixed and an optical demultiplexer 13 spatially separating N systems of light pulse lines from the conversion light pulse lines according to respective optical frequencies.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
