PURPOSE: To obtain ceramic fine formed spheres and fine spheres each having a satisfactory shape and 0.02-0.4mm particle diameter difficult to attain by the conventional method by adopting a stirring granulation method using granules of ceramic powder obtd. by a spray drying method or sintered bodies of the granules as nuclei. ;CONSTITUTION: When ceramic fine formed spheres are produced by forming ceramic powder by a stirring granulation method, granules of ceramic powder obtd. by a spray drying method or sintered bodies of the granules are used as nuclei. Water is generally used as a binder for forming ceramic spheres, but in the case of nuclei each having ≤0.05mm particle diameter, an org. substance such as an org. acid, alcohol or ester is mixed and dissolved in water and the resultant aq. soln. adjusted to 25-50mN/m surface tension is preferably used as the binder. The objective ceramic fine sphere are obtd. by sintering the resultant ceramic fine formed spheres. The sphericity of the fine spheres is ≤1.05.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
