FAULT MONITOR EQUIPMENT FOR COMMUNICATION NETWORK

PURPOSE: To exclude an alarm resulting from a fault detected in advance from being added to fault discrimination of other estimated fault location by controlling the alarm not to be informed to a fault retrieval processing section when the alarm results from the fault detected in advance. ;CONSTITUTION: A communication control processing section 6 in a fault monitor equipment 5 extracts time information, alarm class number, sender information and additional information from received alarm information and sends them to an alarm classification processing section 7. The alarm classification processing section 7 references an alarm classification table based on the extracted alarm class number and sender information to extract a criterion ID for fault discrimination processing to be started. When an alarm is not an alarm resulting from a fault detected in advance as the result of identification, a delayed alarm identification processing section 12 informs the alarm to a fault retrieval processing section 8. On the other hand, when the alarm is an alarm resulting from a fault detected in advance, the alarm is not informed to the fault retrieval processing section 8.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
