PURPOSE: To obtain a smokeless odorless stick of incense suitable for a use at a place where smoke and small of stick of incense are disliked, comprising the carbonized powder of a woody material and a binder. ;CONSTITUTION: This smokeless odorless stick of incense comprises the carbonized powder of a woody material such as sawdust or stems of trees and vegetables, a binder such as a silicate and optionally an inorganic filler (e.g. diatomaceous earth). The amount of the binder is 0.1-30 pts.wt. and that of the inorganic filler is 1-200 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. of the carbonized powder. The smokeless odorless stick of incense, for example, is produced by blending the carbonized powder with an aqueous solution or a water dispersion of the binder, uniformly blending, kneading and drying. Since the smokeless odorless stick of incense has no smoking component, no perfume component of a stick of incense and no smelling component, it is smokeless, odorless and is suitable for use in a room for a corpse in a hospital and a room having a high degree of airtightness.
