PURPOSE: To lower the temperature of the upper part from the molten metal of a graphite crucible and to prevent the oxidative crack by setting the mounting position of a burner and a flame injecting direction to the lower positions than the crucible, and setting the exhaust port to the lower position than the crucible. ;CONSTITUTION: The burner mounting position and a flame injecting position are set to the lower position than a graphite crucible 1, and an exhaust port 6 position is also set to the lower position than the crucible 1. Thus, the crucible 1 is heated at the lower part of the crucible 1, and the upper part of the crucible 1 is not so heated as to be the lower part of the crucible 1. Thus, the oxidation of the molten metal of the crucible 1 at the high temperature of the upper part is suppressed. Since the molten metal is heated at the lower part, the upper and lower parts are agitated by natural convection, and the upper and lower parts become substantially the uniform temperature. Accordingly, the thermal stress generated in the crucible 1 is suppressed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
