摘要

PURPOSE:To produce a carbonic diester in a high convertion rate with high selectivity from an alcohol, carbon monoxide and oxygen using a stable catalyst having no corrosiveness. CONSTITUTION:A catalyst precursor wherein a precursor of copper oxide is supported on a carrier such as activated carbon is baked at a relatively low temp. to enhance the activity of a catalyst for synthesizing a carbonic diester. As the precursor, a copper compd. having a carbonic acid radical such as basic copper carbonate can be used. The supporting amt. of the precursor on the carrier is about 0.1-50wt.% in terms of copper oxide. By baking the catalyst precursor at 300 deg.C or lower, a solid catalyst wherein the half value width of an X-ray diffraction peak resulting from supported cuprous oxide is 0.4 deg. or more is obtained. When an alcohol, carbon monoxide and oxygen are reacted in the presence of the catalyst, a carbonic diester can be efficiently produced.
