METHOD ESPECIALLY APPLICABLE TO DETERMINATION OF POSITION AND DIRECTION OF HELMET AIMING MECHANISM, AND COMPENSATING ELECTROMAGNETIC PERTURBATION DUE TO MOTION OF MAGNETIC OBJECT AND ELECTRICALLY CONDUCTIVE OBJECT
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely compensate measurement errors produced at the time when magnetic-and electrically conductive bodies are moved in an uneven ambient magnetic field, by representing perturbation of each disturbing source as an explicit function of average magnetic fields at positions of the perturbation source. ;SOLUTION: Perturbations due to the respective perturbation sources S1, S2, S3 installed in an uneven ambient magnetic field, are represented an explicit functions of average magnetic fields at the positions of the perturbation sources S1, S2, S3. Then, models capable of being used to calculate the perturbation at the center of a sensor C are constructed. Thus, models for the perturbation sources S1, S2, S3, determined by a magnetic field where the perturbation sources S1, S2, S3 are arranged, can be established. When the sensor C is in a magnetic field to be measured, the perturbations due to the respective perturbation sources S1, S2, S3 are determined using the models. Then, the total of the perturbations due to the perturbation sources S1, S2, S3, is calculated, and the total value is subtracted from the value measured by the sensor C.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
