PURPOSE: To reflect the partial train specific to the phoneme in a feature train into the computations of the phoneme distances without requiring trail and error operations. ;CONSTITUTION: During the comparison between a cepstrum A which is obtained by applying a cepstrum conversion to input sound pressure data and a cepstrum B of a template sound, the distance between cepstrums is computed by a total sum of the square of the difference for every cepstrum. The computation is conducted by obtaining a total sum of the values which are computed by multiplying a weight coefficient window W made by the elements of the total sum of the number of large to small reversals of the elements corresponding to the cepstrum A of the cepstrum B to the square of the difference for every cepstrum phoneme. Having this constitution, no trial and error operation is required and the partial train specific to the phoneme in the feature trains is reflected to the phoneme distance computations.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
