PRODUCTION OF AROMATIC AND PHARMACEUTICAL MATERIAL FROM CHIPS OF HINOKI (JAPANESE CYPRESS)

摘要

PURPOSE:To obtain an aromatic and pharmaceutical material from chips of HINOKI (Japanese cypress) as a raw material for its unique aroma and pharmaceutical action. CONSTITUTION:Trees of Japanese cypress which are unusable as a (house) timber because their trunks has grown unstralght for 80-100 years are cut down and the trunks from the ground to 2 meters high are collected. The core part of the trunks (so called 'red core part') are cut into chips 4 and cracks 5 are formed in the direction along the vessel tissues 4a to accelerate exudation of the active ingredients, and the chips are dried at room temperature indoors whereby this chip material is obtained.
