PURPOSE:To obtain a pinyin (phonetic symbol) KANJI (Chinese character) input system where the correct input of pinyin is facilitated. CONSTITUTION:A vowel input means 1 is provided to input the vowel for input of the pinyin together with a syllable defining means 2 which defines the syllables of the pinyin based on the input vowel, a pinyin KANJI display means 3 which displays simultaneously the defined syllables of the pinyins and a pair of KANJI, a consonant input means 4 which inputs the consonants for input of the pinyins, and a pinyin KANJI converter means 5 which converts a pinyin consisting of a vowel and a consonant into a KANJI and displays them at one time. Then the pinyin syllables defined based on the inputted vowels are simultaneously displayed in pairs of KANJI. The pinyin syllables are obtained from the displayed KANJI and the consonants are inputted. Thus it is possible to easily use an input system that assures the correct input of the pinyins and to enable even a person who does not know much about the pinyins to easily use the pinyin input system.
