PURPOSE: To provide a communication means tor speech and hearing disabled persons using an auxiliary communication equipment for a conventional telephone set by performing transmission by converting character codes to touch-tone signals (DTMF signals) at the time of the transmission and converting the received DTMF signals to the character codes at the time of reception. ;CONSTITUTION: This communication equipment is composed of a data input operation part 1, a central processing part 2, a data display device 3, a data storage part 4, a DTMF signal conversion part 5, a DRMF signal conversion part 6, a speaker amplifier 7, a microphone amplifier 8, a speaker 9 and a microphone 10. Then, character information is allocated to the signals of two digits by the DTMF signals and frequencies intrinsic to numerals 0 to 15 are decided. The communication equipment performs the transmission by converting the character codes into the DTMF signals at the time of the transmission, converts the received DTMF signals into the character codes at the time of the reception and is mutually communicable and portable. Thus, privacy communication utilizing a telephone line is made possible and utilization in character communication for the disabled person is performed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
