GOLD BUDDHIST ALTAR FITTINGS AND ITS MANUFACTURE

PURPOSE: To provide gold Buddhist alter fittings with high purity which are difficult to flaw and deform by forming them from at least one kind of Zr, Hf, rare earth elements and Ca having a content of a specified range, and the balance Au. ;CONSTITUTION: These golden Buddhist alter fittings contain 0.01-1wt.% of at least one kind of Zr, Hf, rare earth elements, and Ca, and the balance Au. When the content is less than 0.01wt.%, the hardness can not be improved, and when exceeding 1wt.%, the dignity and characteristic of Au are lost. In the manufacturing method thereof, Au to which 0.01-1wt.% of at least one kind of Zr, Hf, rare earth elements and Ca are added is fused in a high-frequency vacuum fusion furnace, casted into an ingot, and then rolled into a plate followed by flat drawing. As the rare earth element, Y, Sm, Eu, and Er are preferably used. A bell 1 is particularly preferred as the Buddhist alter fittings. In case of the bell 1, the thickness t₁ of the upper edge part A, the thickness t₂ of the middle height part B, and the thickness t₃ of the bottom part outer peripheral vicinity C are preferably set to be t₁t₃t₂.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
