PURPOSE: To avoid the interference of a cutting margin in the direction of processing axis with a tool holding part by previously recessing a part of the cutting margin in the direction of processing axis of a metal mold raw material that interferes with the tool holding part of a small-diameter tool by a recess processing tool at the time of processing a part which is unworkable by a large-diameter tool by the small-diameter tool. ;CONSTITUTION: A recess processing tool 5 conducts recess processing for cutting off a part G of a cutting margin C in the direction of processing axis of a press mold raw material 1 that interferes with a tool holding part 4 of a small- diameter tool 3 when a corner part of a press mold contour shape, which is unworkable by a large-diameter tool, is processed by the small-diameter tool 3. After that, the corner part of the press mold contour shape, which is unworkable by a large-diameter tool 2, is processed by the small-diameter tool 3. Accordingly, even if automatic processing for the press mold contour shape is performed by an NC machine fool, interference of a cutting margin C in the direction of processing axis with the tool holding part 4 can be avoided, and processing by the small-diameter tool 3 can be performed without disadvantage.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
