PURPOSE:To simply correct the set value within a range of rolling in a short time by searching the conditions to enter the set value within the regulating range when the set value of the continuous rolling mill obtained by solving a rolling equation exceeds the regulating range. CONSTITUTION:The tension between rolling mills, load factor of the mill, rolling reduction at the head/the final mills, etc., during steady rolling by the continuous rolling mills are calculated by reading initial data in a previously set relational expression. Then, the equation indicating rolling conditions is solved through the calculated rolling conditions, the position of rolling reduction and rolling speed of each rolling mill are set. By the pattern of each rolling mill based on this set value, rolling load, rolling reduction of each rolling mill are checked whether these are within the regulating range or not. If these are within the regulating range, the rolling is controlled based on said set value. If these are beyond the regulating range, the rolling condition range wherein the rolling load and rolling reduction of each rolling mill are within said regulating range is searched and said set value is corrected to enter within said rolling condition range.
