PURPOSE: To properly control gripping operation of a gripper acting on a platelike workpiece by supporting a series of symmetrical articulated arms and/or cam in both end parts of a common axle. ;CONSTITUTION: A pull handle 14 is pulled downward, and a lever-cam 20 is rotated against the elongation of a spring 25 in the counterclockwise direction. This spring 25 returns the lever-cam 20 to an initial position later when a scanning roller of a lever 12 passes a lower region of a cam 10 again. A long cotter 34 is provided in each end part of a shaft 30 to rotate a plurality of mechanical drive elements 20, 40, 50 arranged in parallel for each other simultaneously. The lever-cam 20 which is a first element has a cam segment 22 in its upper part, and the cam segment 22 is used to operate a mechanism which locks a position of a gripper 8 and sets a sheet pulling-down device to a predetermined position.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
