INSTALLATION METHOD OF SADDLE FOR SUSPENSION BRIDGE AND SADDLE FOR SUSPENSION BRIDGE

PURPOSE: To make saddles for a suspension bridge movable on stretching cables and fix them firmly to the towerd to dispense with maintenance works and enable movable support bodies used for the installation of saddles to be removed after use and also reused. ;CONSTITUTION: A fixed guide body 1 having a guide groove 2 is firmly attached to the upper part of a tower and a pair of movable support bodies 4 to support a saddle 9 are placed on the fixed guide body 1 so as to be slid to the stretched direction of cable and removable therefrom. Saddle support bases 7 are provided in respective movable support bodies 4. Detachable pushing ribs 13 and lifting ribs to separate it from the fixed guide body 1 are fixed on the saddle support bases 7 in the saddle 9 placed on the upper part of tower. The saddle 9 positioned at a specified location of the upper part of tower is firmly fixed to the fixed guide body 1 by fastening bolts.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
