PRINTER, PRINTING CONTROLLING METHOD IN PRINTER AND CHARACTER FONT PATTERN CONTROLLING METHOD

PURPOSE: To provide a printer performing the processing for each printing request from plural host devices in parallel and printing controlling method therefor. ;CONSTITUTION: Plural virtual printers (logical printers 1, 2, 3 and 4) are provided in a physically existing printer so that the processing of printing data from plural host devices may be performed in parallel and a logical printer is assigned to respective host devices. A virtual host interface exists every logical printer, the host device corresponding to this host interface and session are actuated and perform the receipt and delivery of data. Each logical printer is independently in charge of an emulation. Thus, a multisession and a multiemulation are realized by operating the plural logical printers by a printer.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
