LOW-VOLTAGE AC CONTACTOR HAVING HIGH-VOLTAGE RECOVERING FUNCTION

PURPOSE: To provide an AC contactor having high recovery voltage intensity. ;CONSTITUTION: This low-voltage AC contactor is provided with a contact assembly 110 and a high recovery voltage gas apparatus 200 connected to the contact assembly 110. Every contact assembly has two contact pads 120, 130 and one of the contact pad is installed in a positioning apparatus 150, which positions the contact pad selectively in either the circuit-closing position or the circuit- opening position. The high recovery voltage gas apparatus has a thermal type gas generating medium 210 which introduces a gas having high recovery voltage intensity into the gap between the contact pads and the gas has about 300 V or higher, typically about 500 V or higher, of flow discharge cathode voltage decrease value, in the case a silver base contact is used. The gas with the high recovery voltage intensity is typically carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, steam, etc.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
