METHOD AND DEVICE FOR MONITORING LINE IN MODEM NETWORK WITH MONITORING FUNCTION

PURPOSE: To perform caution display or printing and line backup by recognizing the quality degradation of a line corresponding to monitored result information from a modem with monitoring function concerning a line monitor command from a network monitoring system terminal. ;CONSTITUTION: A means 10 inside a network monitoring system terminal 1 transmits a line monitor command (1) for monitoring whether line quality is lowered or not at prescribed time intervals. A deciding means 11 decides the quality degradation of the line based on a prescribed reference value corresponding to monitored result information (2) from a modem 2 with monitoring function. When the deciding means 11 recognizes the degradation of line quality continuously prescribed times or for prescribed time within the prescribed time, a means 12 performs a prescribed maintaining operation such as caution display or printing or automatic backup due to a public line, for example.
