PURPOSE: To massively obtain the subject compound useful as a raw material for medicines such as carbapenem antibiotics by culturing a trans-hydroxy-L- proline-producing fungus belonging to the genus Clonostachys. ;CONSTITUTION: A trans-4-hydroxy-L-proline-producing fungus [e.g. Clonostachys.cylindrospora SAN 18192 strain (FERM-BP-4096)] belonging to the genus Clonostachys is cultured, and the objective compound is collected from the cultured product. The microorganism is preferably vibration-cultured at 26°C for several days in the case of a small scale, or cultured at 26°C with air-bubbling in the case of a mass culture.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
