In a process and system for the multi-channel acquisition and evaluating of measurement data, the measurement data channels are divided into analog data channels and digital or 'event' channels. With the aid of a signal derived from the events or event signals and processed in the event channels, the analog measurement data are synchronously scanned, i.e. acquired, converted into a digital value and stored. An identification of the event signal or corresponding event channel triggering the scan, the phase time between this scanning signal and the previous scanning signal, the relevant scanned measurement data and the time sequence of the scanning processes are stored. The signal triggering synchronous scanning is preferably formed by OR interfacing of all possibly subordinate event signals.
