The invention relates to a device for use in a press (8) to feed connecting components, preferably nuts, and secure them in workpieces (1) by pressing. The device has a pressing head (5) on a press component for inserting and pressing the connecting components, a rigid feed (24) to feed the securing components to the pressing head (5) and a device via which the connecting components are fed to the rigid feed or a loading position. The special feature is that the device consists of at least two components (19', 19'') which can be secured to two relatively movable press components and of which one comprises the pressing head and the other the loading position.
