The telemetry (T) and optical detector (D) are mounted in parallel on the sight. The optical detector has a direct target path via a window S, whilst the telemetry passes to the target by semi-reflecting mirrors (M). The telemetry is normally outside the band of the optical detector. However, a frequency convertor can be inserted into the telemetry path, allowing conversion to the optical frequency. the two sightlines can then be aligned.
