Method and corresponding device for monitoring the game of tennis, based on an assemblage of electronic apparatus, installed at the edges of the tennis court so as to be able to record the events of the play, comprising a system of detection by television cameras able to scrutinise the lines of each half-court, a recording unit with the task of receiving the images of the television cameras and storing them on magnetic tape, and a control and display panel able to produce on video the images of the individual lines at the moment of impact of the ball within the limits of play and the possible actions of the ball, which images have the privilege of being an instant document of any given phase of the game.
