Textile complex for the fire-resistant upholstery (covering) of furniture

A novel textile complex is described for the fire- resistant upholstery of furniture, particularly furniture used on public premises and means of transportation, which has a layer consisting of a nonwoven sheet (lap) formed by an association of para-aramid fibres, preoxidized fibres and, optionally, modacrylic fibres, which has a high degree of fire resistance and efficiently insulates the inflammable material filling. Preferably, the textile complex includes the said sheet and an exterior textile covering being given a fire- resistant treatment, both structures being joined by means of a fire-resistant adhesive. The spot technique is used in the adhesive-application process.
