Intrinsic safety visual indicator lamp for explosive atmospheres, based on light-emitting diodes [LEDs]. The lamp comprises a mechanical casing acting as a protective envelope for all the components, which casing has an upper part for mounting or suspension and a lower translucent part for displaying the light emitted by a plurality of light-emitting diodes arranged radially on a series of suitably mounted discs arranged horizontally and equidistant from one another, forming a cylindrical arrangement of the light-emitting diodes that is visible at a horizontal angle of 360o and a vertical angle of 90o. The lamp is completed by an "on" flashing electrical control circuit for these "LEDs". The lamp is designed for use in poorly lit places such as mines, tunnels, etc. where there may also be an atmosphere with a risk of the presence of explosive gases.
