NON-LINEAR CONTROL SYSTEM FOR A SINGLE INPUT-SINGLE OUTPUT PROCESS

A control system and method for providing a non-linear response for a singleinput-single output system. A system output is measured and compared against apredetermined set point. An error signal from this measurement is used toidentify an entry in a lookup table. The entry is a control signal used tovary the input to the system so as to reach a desired output. The lookup tableentries are configured so that as the output reaches the desired set point,smaller and smaller incremental steps are taken in varying the input.
