摘要

A chromium-free process for providing a metal surface with the properties of corrosion resistance, hydrophilicity, low odor andbioresistance. The process includes initially treating the metal with a solution of fluoride, ziconium and a protic acid. Then, the metal istreated with a solution of water-soluble silicate at an alkaline pH. Rinses are optionally used after each stage, and an oven drying stage ispreferred as the final step in the process.
