A device for indication of states of stress of an individual comprises members (1) arranged to detect the heart beats of the individual, means (5) arranged to calculate the heart rate of the individual from this detection, members (2) arranged to detect the breathing direction, in or out, of the individual, and an arrangement (6) arranged to work out data that are indicative of the state of the stress of the individual on the basis of the heart rate and breathing direction information delivered by said members and means.
