The invention relates to a process for separating catalyst-free working solution from precious metal black, in particular palladium black, as the working solution of the hydrogenation circuit containing the catalyst of the so-called anthraquinone process for the production of hydrogen peroxide by filtering the working solution containing catalyst using filter candles. The process can be significantly improved in terms of economy if, instead of the known carbo-filter cartridges, filter cartridges made of an open-pore support body based on a carbon, metallic or ceramic material with an average pore size in the range from 5 to 100 μm and one on one side of the Support body arranged single or multi-layer membrane made of ceramic material with an average pore size in the range of greater than 1 to 10 microns used.
