Process and apparatus for annealing of a metallic strip and improvements to hot continuous galvanic lines using the same

Annealing a continuously defiling metal strip comprises rapidly heating the strip and maintaining at a determined temp. plateau. The initial heating is realised until a temp. greater than this temp. plateau is attained in order to produce an initial temp. peak at the beginning of the thermal cycle. Also claimed is: (i) the device for putting this process into service, consisting of a transverse flow induction heating system to create the initial temp. peak; and (ii) the application of the process and the device to a continuous strip annealing system for a galvanising line.
