The present invention relates to a process for the isomerization of n-olefins containing up to 20 carbon atoms. The method includes contacting the feedstock containing the olefin with an alumina-based catalyst impregnated with 0.03 wt% to 0.6 wt% titanium and 0.05 wt% to 5 wt% oxide of the Group 3A element. The process may be carried out in the absence of a small amount of steam or steam.
