An electrochemical measuring sensor 10 having sensor elements 14 arranged without dislocations is provided for measuring the oxygen content of the gas, in particular for measuring the oxygen content in the exhaust gas of the internal combustion engine. The sensor element 14 has a solid electrolytic member 23 for inducing oxygen ions in the form of a tube whose one side is closed. This tube is inserted into the metal housing 11 with the packing ring 20 with the outer electrode 25 arranged on the outer surface, with the terminal side strip conductor 27 extending to the outer surface. The sensor element 14 has an insulating layer 21 at least in the region of the packing ring 20 and covers the strip conductor 27 towards the housing 11. [ The insulating layer 21 is formed of a mixture of crystalline, non-metallic material and glass forming material. In this formation, the insulating layer 21 is placed in a heat treatment above the melting temperature of the material forming the glass, and the insulating layer 21 forms a glaze filled with a crystalline, non-metallic material.
