摘要

FIELD: metallurgy; baths of electric arc furnaces for smelting foundry ferrochrome. SUBSTANCE: hearth units of furnace are provided with protective coating which consists of carbon-containing and current-carrying layers. Carbon-containing layer is made in form of carbon-containing energy concentrator mounted in center of hearth. Carbon-containing units are mounted between energy concentrator and side walls and clearances between them are filled with hearth mass. Height of each subsequent unit from energy concentrator to side wall is less than that of previous one. Units forming the hearth are made of magnesite. EFFECT: enhanced reliability. 4 cl, 4 dwg
