Electric Arc Furnaces in Ferrous Foundries - Background Information for Proposed Standards

Standards of Performance for the control of emissions from electric arc furnaces in ferrous foundries are being proposed under the authority of Section 111 of the Clean Air Act. These standards would only apply during periods of melting and refining in the furnace. This document contains background information and environmental and economic impact assessments of the regulatory alternatives considered in developing proposed standards.
