FIELD: agriculture; livestock farming. SUBSTANCE: method involves raising gilts separately from young castrated boars. The gilts are raised in a stall where a castrated young boar is placed. The latter serves the gilts one after another as they come in first heat. Unlike castration, this treatment does not discontinue the secreting activity of the reproduction organs. The activity changes from enhanced dissimilation (in the period of heat) to enhanced assimilation of nutrients in connection with their accumulation in the organism for the would-be offspring. EFFECT: higher liveweight gain. 2 cl, 1 tbl
