FIELD: catalytic chemistry. SUBSTANCE: method provides for successive impregnation of carrier with aqueous solutions of tungsten complex salt and nickel nitrate with subsequent drying, calcination at 450-650 C and reduction at 400 C in hydrogen current. Tungsten complex salt has formula Me_n[SiMe′W₁₁O_m], where Me is K, Cs, Li, Ni, Me′ is Co, Ni, W, Cr; n=4; m=40 when Me′ is W; Me=Me(+1) is K, Li, Cs; n=2 with Me=Me(+2) being Ni; n=6, m= 39 when Me′ is Ni or Co, Me=Me(+1); n=3 when Me=Me(+2); n=5, m=39 when Me′ is Cr and Me=Me(+1). In this case impregnation is conducted after application of this salt to carrier with its subsequent impregnation with solution of nickel hexahydronitrate.
