FIELD: physicochemical application of gas chromatography. SUBSTANCE: process is related to determination of adsorption capability of solids used for calculation of structural parameters of their surfaces. Process is performed in vacuum and flow of vapors of adsorbate is divided at outlet of column ahead of detector with the help of by-pass line. Frontal chromatograms are generated after uninterrupted passage of adsorbate through column with adsorbent and value of adsorption is calculated by area confined between concentration fronts of adsorbate and non-adsorbing gas. EFFECT: increased precision and sensitivity of measurements, expanded working range of concentrations, diminished effect of "clearance volume". 3 cl, 1 dwg
