FIELD: refrigerating engineering; cooling of rooms; air-conditioning systems. SUBSTANCE: production of cold consists in evaporation of refrigerating agent in evaporator by removal of heat from object being cooled and circulation of refrigerating agent over closed circuit at ejector compression, condensation, capillary compression and evaporation of part of flow, thus obtaining motive steam for ejector. Prior to feeding the liquid refrigerating agent to capillary pump, it is subcooled due to heat exchange or with pores of low-temperature refrigerating agent after evaporator or with part of liquid refrigerating agent throttled after condensation. Steam-jet refrigerating plant for realization of this method is provided with liquid subcooler whose one chamber is connected to line supplying the liquid refrigerating agent from condenser to capillary pump and other chamber is connected either to line feeding the low-temperature steam from evaporator to ejector or other chamber may be brought into communication with line feeding the liquid refrigerating agent from condenser to evaporator after throttling or with line feeding the low-temperature steam from evaporator to ejector. Other chamber of liquid subcooler may be brought in communication with line feeding the liquid refrigerating agent from condenser and with suction nozzle of second ejector for cooling the refrigerating agent; working nozzle of second ejector is connected to outlet of capillary pump and delivery nozzle is connected to condenser inlet. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency.
