METHOD OF STRENGTHENING PIPE LINE OPERATED UNDER PRESSURE

FIELD: pipe line engineering. SUBSTANCE: method comprises strengthening pipe members of a pipe line by wrapping spirals made of a metallic shape around the pipe line, the ultimate strength of the shape being higher than theat of the material of a pipe line. The shape is wound on the pipe line members over a spiral until they wraps around the members. The cold spirals are calibrated, using, e.g. a mandrel, over the inner diameter decreased by a value of interference with respect to the real outer diameter of the pipe. The calibrated turns of the spiral are welded to fix them one with respect to the other. The spiral heated up to 300-500°C is then fit on the respective portion of the pipe. EFFECT: simplified method.
