FIELD: geochemical methods of oil and gas prospecting. SUBSTANCE: prediction is carried out by registering the level of sharp drop of values of geochemical parameters in a signal zone corresponding to thickness of false cover while the height of trap equal to the height of deposit sought for is determined by the difference between height of rise and thickness of the false cover. EFFECT: higher reliability of predicting the height of deposit before its opening through a well.
