Matting section for placing under wall plaster, reducing cracking risk

A matting section is used for placing under plaster esp. where there are gaps or cracks in walls. It is formed from a fleece or fine weave (2) which is impermeable to plaster and supplied with holes (4) arranged in raster. The total area of the holes is mfd. to equal the fleece or weave surface (5) between the holes. Pref. there is a plaster reinforcing mesh (1) with an even surface or a surface embossed at intervals placed on the side of the fleece towards the plaster and, between mesh and fleece and bound to them at various points, is a thicker, stiffly elastic, plaster- permeable intermediate layer (3) composed of tangled thread. Alternatively the intermediate layer is a three-dimensional embossed wavy structure with or a layer with a structure like a waffle iron. The fleece is provided with an unperforated strip of breadth equal to that of a hole dia., along a mid-line of the matting section and over its whole length or breadth. The rows of holes next the strip have an open cross-section less than that of the other holes, i.e. less than their 1 to 2 sq. cm cross section. The outer edges of the section run through the mid-lines of the holes at the edges.
