Fluorescence suppression system for Raman spectroscopy

The fluorescence suppression system has the sample irradiated with electromagnetic radiation with a very high field strength with frequencies in the absorption range for reducing the fluorescence of the sample substance. The very high field strength of the electromagnetic radiation is pref. provided by focussing a laser beam onto a small quantity of the substance in the nanogram range.
