The revolver developer unit (230) has a number of developing elements, respectively with a development roller also a developer e.g. toner carrier and a third motor for rotating the roller of each developing element. A rotational speed of each roller is so established, that the developer moves on the roller. The developer moves on the development roller relatively in the direction of a tangent at the roller, compared to the surface of the drum, if the developer on the development roller, separates itself from the rotor and comes into contact with the photo conducting drum (200). A transfer system transfers the visible image on to a sheet.
