The lock has a plug section with head (14), stop (25), and shaft (13), and a channel (15), extending from the rear end of the shaft. The string for the pearls is inserted into the channel from the back, and then returned after passing over an abutment (33). The channel ends near the stop, and is in connection with two diametrical openings (28,29) on the stop. The head has a passage (30) near the stop, which extends approx. parallel to the common centre line of the openings. A cut (32) extends from each opening to the passage. The front end of the channel has two guide faces (35,36). These form a wedge, and force the string to one of the two openings.
