A novel DNA sequence containing the DNA sequence coding for human tissue plasminogen activator produced by human normal cells is constructed. This DNA sequence is incorporated into an expression vector to form a recombinant DNA, which is used to transform microbial or mammalian host cells. If the transformed mammalian host cells are used, human tissue plasminogen activator originating from human normal cells can be produced simply by culturing those host cells.
