Complement-activating IgG antibodies (Ab) against HLA-DR antigens are detected by incubating the antigen with patient serum and a source of complement, a fluorescently labelled antibody (Ab2) directed against a complement component and subsequent analysis by fluorescence spectroscopy. Also new are test kits contg. HLA-DR, complement source, Ab2 and opt. an anti-IgG antibody (Ab3) also fluorescently labelled but emitting at a different wavelength from Ab2.
